Achievement of scopes 1 and 2 carbon neutrality in 2022 under the GHG protocol!

In 2021, 100 % of power used at the Head Office Factory and A1 Factory was switched to renewable energy generated by solar and wind power, launching “zero emissions manufacturing.” Efforts have continued since then to reduce GHG (greenhouse gas) emissions, including the installing of solar panels at our new “A1+” Factory, replacement of deteriorated equipment, and expanded use of environmentally friendly packaging for products. On top of that, carbon credits under the J-Credit Scheme were used to offset GHG emissions, achieving scopes 1 and 2 carbon neutrality under the GHG protocol at the Head Office Factory and A1 Factory.

Scopes 1 and 2 refer to the achievement of GHG reduction targets in business activities at domestic production sites. With the achievement of scopes 1 and 2 carbon neutrality, we aim to realize a sustainable society by reducing GHG emissions in stages across the entire supply chain in the future, through measures to reduce indirect emissions (scope 3) beyond the scope of business activities.
